about_v3.jpg

Based in London, originally from Portugal.

My background is in Fashion Design, and I completed a Master’s degree in Fashion Studies at the University of Architecture and Design in Lisbon.

Over time, I have shifted my focus towards soft materials and now work primarily as a freelance material researcher and developer, creative pattern cutter, tailor, maker, and artisan.

My multidisciplinary approach to textiles and soft materials enables me to engage with a range of fields, including art, interior design, fashion, theatre, film, music, and commercial/editorial projects.

Some of my clients include Heirloom Experience, A Cold Wall, SR_A, Atelier LK, and Studio Toogood (Art & Interior). Additionally, I have had the privilege of working on art projects, such as ongoing collaborations with Cecilia Vicuna for Tate Modern (Turbine Hall Commission, 2022), Barbican (Unravel, 2024), MoMA Warsaw (2024), Xavier Hufkens, Brussels (2025), IMMA Dublin (2025).

Through my experience, I have developed a systematic approach for each project I undertake. This involves outlining steps and stages, from conceptualising an idea or vision to providing material solutions. This method ensures that each project is executed professionally and reliably.

I am passionate about exploring and understanding textiles’ diverse behaviours, scales, possibilities, and limitations. I genuinely enjoy my work and welcome new challenges.

Adapting to each commission is key, where I utilise transferable skills, integrating my art practice—researching and developing with soft materials and evoking sound through making processes such as weaving and embroidery.
